Color Team

Members of the Advanced Academy Color Team train and certify Paul Mitchell Schools' Learning Leaders in our unique color system, which focuses on placing color in relation to the haircut. Team members also lead the Advanced Academy color classes, including 3-Day Contemporary Color Foundations3-Day Accelerated Color Evolution3-Day Contemporary Cut and Color Foundations, and 3-Day Accelerated Cut and Color Evolution.

Audra Turner
Advanced Academy Color Education Leader

After graduating from Von Curtis Academy (now Paul Mitchell The School – Provo) in 1988, Audra Turner became a Paul Mitchell National Educator, Senior Associate, and member of the PAC and Task Force teams. A salon owner since 1996, Audra instills an atmosphere of education into her salon, saying, "Education is the key to continued success in this industry, the water to grow a stylist." Audra enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of hair while teaching at schools and gatherings.

Kate Caussey
Lead Color Specialist

Kate Caussey worked for five years as a Brocato National Educator before becoming a Learning Leader at Von Curtis Academy (now Paul Mitchell The School - Provo). She has done print work and TV commercials, owned a successful salon, and served as a Paul Mitchell National Educator and PAC team member. Kate is integral in color curriculum development and program implementation, including the Paul Mitchell Cutting System. She is a breast cancer survivor and avid fundraiser for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Cassandra Sanchez

Cassandra Sanchez has been a stylist since 1992, spending 13 years in salons where she built a great clientele. Her photo shoots have appeared in Newport Coast magazine and she has done television work with comedian George Lopez. She completed advanced training with Vidal Sassoon and several color companies before becoming the Color Specialist at Paul Mitchell The School - Costa Mesa. Cassandra loves sharing her knowledge and training instructors on the Paul Mitchell color systems.

Nikki Ramos

Since joining the industry in 2005, Nikki Ramos has explored her passion for hair by studying at advanced academies including Paul Mitchell and Vidal Sassoon in London. With a dedication to excellence, she became highly certified in all presentation and technical skills, making her a multi-talented Learning Leader Advisor and Color Specialist at Paul Mitchell The School - Sacramento and Advanced Academy team member.

 

Megan Mochel

As a Paul Mitchell Schools' graduate, Megan Mochel knew she wanted to give back the knowledge she had gained and brighten the future of the industry. When Paul Mitchell The School Chicago came along, Megan knew she wanted to be part of the team. She joined the school when it opened in 2009, serving not only as the Lead Color Specialist but also taking part in all educational areas of the school. Her journey has taken her to Paul Mitchell The School Lombard where she now "plays" as the Education Leader. Megan's goals as an educator include spreading her love for the industry and helping others achieve their goals.

 

Phil Wood

Phil Wood has been part of the beauty industry since 2002, and he joined the Paul Mitchell family in 2004. With a firm belief that education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world and our industry, Phil enjoys his role as a Learning Leader and Theory, Cutting, and Color Specialist at Paul Mitchell The School Boise. Phil also owns a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon in the heart of the arts district in downtown Boise. As an Advanced Academy Educator, he proudly shares his passion, dedication, and love for education with his school, his salon, and the Paul Mitchell networks.

 

Vanessa Torres

 

After graduating from Vogue College of Cosmetology in San Antonio, Texas, in 2002, Vannessa Torres started her career behind the chair. She worked at Mia and Maxx Hair Studio (2002–2006) and The Salon and Spa at Saks 5th Avenue (2006–2008). For the next six years, she continued her education by attending Paul Mitchell specialist trainings in color, cutting, texture, and makeup. She worked at Paul Mitchell The School San Antonio (2008–2011) and then joined Paul Mitchell The School Arlington, where she serves as Education Leader and Skill Specialist. In 2008, San Antonio’s 210 magazine named Vannessa one of the most recommended up-and-coming stylists to see, and in 2012 she assisted at the Paul Mitchell Schools Caper event. 

Kristy Watkins

Kristy Watkins began her career in the beauty industry after graduating from Paul Mitchell The School Costa Mesa in 2001. She assisted at the Richard Michael Salon for a year before becoming a full-time stylist. She spent a total of ten years at the salon, with two years managing the salon, before she felt a call to contribute to the growth of today’s young hairstylists and decided to move into the education branch of the beauty industry. She is currently a Color Specialist at Paul Mitchell The School Costa Mesa and a member of the Paul Mitchell Advanced Academy Team, where she teaches in schools across the nation and inspires Future Professionals to find their passion.
